Initiative

Every year, Lazio boots hundreds of events spread throughout its territory. The ambience of feast continues to transmit secular traditions and history to present every day life.

In order to value the cultural resources of the territory and stimulate the development of tourism, The Region of Lazio has decided to support the organisation and the promotion of these events, focusing on their ability to attract visitors from all sources.

The above project  -complying to Section 31 of L.R.. 26/2007 regarding the Financial Plan for 2008 Financial Year- triggered a Regional Programme in favour of historical, artistic, religious and popular traditions, using funds totalling 5 million Euros per year.
 The funds may be benefited by municipalities and Town Halls as well as the Proloco Associations requesting Financial help for events planned for the following year.

The events that have obtained support and sponsorship from The Region of Lazio have been collected in a rich calendar. The Regional Tourism Department has established to implement a targeted communication campaign in favour of this initiative and delegated to Region Lazio and City of Rome Tourist Board to reach the goal.

The objective is to highlight cultural, artistic and eno-gastonomic heritage all over the region by promoting activities, festivals, local events, typical feasts and many attractions present throughout the territory of Region Lazio, being plenty even outside Rome.

The initiative is perceived in the context of a precise strategy: Making tourism the engine of sustainable development oriented on a balanced growth of the territory and great value all its resources.
